Considering Options in the Engineering Career

The word ‘engineer’ literally means to “make things happen”. Engineering is where you solve problems. To add a bit more to it we can say, engineers use technical, as well as scientific knowledge in order to make judgments. By using their imaginations, they come up with new solutions to human problems or new ways to solve old problems. So, the best way to summarize all of this is that engineers are problem solvers. But as each one of us is born with some unique qualities, similarly there are many numbers of branches of engineering and we have to make a right choice based on our abilities and inherent qualities. Through this article I am going to put some light on four major braches of engineering which is surely going to help you to make a better choice of your Engineering career.

Civil Engineering:

The design, construction and maintenance of the small to mega scale projects that meet the requirements of communities at large is come under the purview of Civil Engineering. These projects include Bridges, dams, roads, Railways, aerodromes, ports, buildings etc.

Mechanical Engineering:

It is one of the most common but popular branch of engineering and therefore in true sense Mechanical Engineering is known to be the Back Bone of all Engineering Branches. This branch of Engineering involves designing, development, production and use of mechanical tools to solve all technical issues related to all kind mechanical devices. Generally hired by manufacturing industries, these engineers have employment opportunity in both private and public sectors. Government sectors like, PWD, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd, Bharat Electronics Limited, Chennai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd., Indian Railways and many others hire these Engineers

Computer and software Engineering:

B.E./B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering is all about Computer Sciences, programming languages, software development and testing, networking etc. It also focuses on using the above mentioned skills and knowledge for practical and Industry specific usage. Job opportunities are available for Graduates in Government as well as Private sector. Graduates may take up the following job posts-

  • Web Designer
  • Network Engineer
  • Software Engineer
  • Software Tester
  • Project Manager
  • Application Developer
  • Cyber Security expert
  • White Hacker
  • Hardware Engineer and many more…

Electronics & Communication Engineering :

Communication technology and Electronics segments are evolving and developing at a rapid pace. ECE is one such discipline that heavily influences our day to day lives. Right from small household appliances to giant electronic control systems. This branch of engineering mainly deals with design, testing, manufacturing, analysis and research of electronic and communication circuits. Mobile phone is the best example to understand the concept of this branch of Engineering, Mobile is electronic equipment and we use it for communicating with others. Similarly, EC Engineering is also involved in development, testing, manufacturing and analysis of devices like TV, Computers, Radio, Communication Systems, Complex control systems, Robotic systems, VLSI systems, PCB Boards etc.ECE consists of elements of electrical engineering, computer science, control systems etc.

The Career Prospects and Job Opportunities: Electronics and Communication Engineers may take up a job in the core electronics sector or in any of the allied fields. Talking about core electronics sector, major players include semiconductor sector, electronics goods sector, electronics startup sector etc. Allied fields include IT sector, computer science field, electrical engineering field, communication field etc.

Conclusion:

Having said all the above, the question still remains in our mind “Is Pursuing B-Tech Courses Really a Wise Idea?”People having a B-Tech degree are located just about everywhere today but there are just a few who get blessed in their lives and discover employment that will probably be worth. But one must keep this in mind that only those Individuals are successful who all are outstanding in their skills & learning experience because that is exactly the top companies want while placing a student so in short there is no problem to pursue a carrier in Engineering, rather important is to select the right Institute at right place. And Delhi being the capital of India had lots of advancements. NCR or the National Capital Region is the metropolitan area of the national capital.

The NCR includes areas likes of Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Gaziabad etc .In the present scenario Greater Noida has emerged as one of the biggest and important town of NCR where the 8-lane Yamuna Expressway, comparable to the best of highways across the world, adds to the connectivity of the satellite town. From next year the connectivity through Metro will be a feather in the cap of this city. Also the Greater Noida has now become one of the most popular city of India in terms of providing best of the professional education, where Top mechanical engineering colleges of NCR, Top B.Tech colleges of Noida and in the Knowledge Park area (an area especially designed to accommodate best of the Educational Institutions ) best B.Tech colleges of Greater Noida are available. So, why not check out in the NCR cities near Delhi. You never know, you might just make your fortune at one of these cities.
